Coroner identifies body found by railroad tracks in Lowndes County

SUMMARY: In Lowndes County, the body of 62-year-old Marty Atkins was found by railroad tracks. Coroner Greg Merchant identified Atkins, who had been living in the area after a fire damaged his home. Atkins is believed to have died earlier today before being discovered around 2:30 PM by a railroad worker conducting a routine inspection. He was found underneath a fallen hunting stand. Sheriff Eddie Hawkins reported that foul play is not suspected in Atkins’ .
