WTV’s Veronica Mahia reports from New Albany, where she spoke with residents. At a city meeting, some residents expressed concerns about potential problems and costs associated with maintaining historic homes. The Department of Archives and History stated that the proposed district includes the downtown area and north and south neighborhoods. Community Development Director Billene Stoud highlighted potential benefits, including increased tourism, higher property values, and property protection. Opinions are mixed, with some residents skeptical about long-term impacts and others viewing the designation positively.
