Emergency motion judgment filed against Dau Mabil’s wife
SUMMARY: In Jackson, Mississippi, Bul Mabil filed an emergency motion against Karissa Bowley, widow of his brother Dau Mabil, who was found deceased in the Pearl River in April 2024 after disappearing in March. Bul seeks an independent autopsy by a selected doctor, Dr. Matthias Okoye, whom Bowley rejects. The Mississippi State Medical Examiner's Office determined Dau's cause of death as drowning but left the manner of death undetermined. No external trauma was found, but ethanol was detected in the postmortem toxicological analysis. The court hearing saw discussions on permitting an independent autopsy before releasing Dau's remains.
