Prairie Farms donates milk to food bank
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Food Network received a significant donation of hundreds of gallons of lactose-free milk from Prairie Farms, coinciding with the end of National Dairy Month. This donation is part of a broader initiative, with multiple food pantries across the country benefitting from such contributions. Prairie Farms emphasizes that fresh milk is often taken for granted, as many in need typically receive only shelf-stable milk. The donation aims to provide immediate nutritional benefits, particularly highlighting the advantage of lactose-free milk, which is beneficial for all families.

SUMMARY: A house fire occurred near Baxterville in Lamar County amidst thunderstorms in the Pine Belt area. Officials do not suspect foul play and believe a lightning strike may have caused the fire. This assumption is based on homeowner reports and continuous lightning strikes during firefighting efforts.
