Meridian’s city pools open for summer holiday

Kids get to experience Camp Kamassa

Founded by Mary Kitchens, the camp aims to a worry-, -long camping experience for special needs kids in Mississippi. Planning began in 2007, and after starting construction in 2018, the camp welcomed its first campers this week. Director Bridget highlights the joy and sense of belonging the camp offers the children. Inspired by other states' facilities, Kitchens toured 14 locations to conceptualize Camp Kamasa.
