Man accused of shooting at Lamar County deputies
SUMMARY: Lamar County deputies arrested 47-year-old Jeb Travis Clearman after he allegedly fired shots at them. The incident occurred early on June 28. Deputies originally responded to a disturbance call at Clearman's Oak Grove residence, where he was yelling profanities after an earlier altercation at a convenience store. After initially telling Clearman to go inside, deputies were called back when he continued yelling from his porch and fired a weapon at them. Clearman was arrested without further incident and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and disturbing the peace. No deputies were injured.
