Capitol police prepare for CCID expansion on July 1
SUMMARY: Starting July 1, the jurisdiction of Capitol police in Jackson, Mississippi, will expand, enhancing their presence in the Jackson-metro area. The Capitol Complex Improvement District (CCID) boundaries will stretch north to Northside Drive, east to the Pearl River's bank, west to Ellis Avenue, and south to Interstate 20. The expansion includes three Jackson Public Schools and the Kroger off Interstate 55. Although collaboration between law enforcement agencies has raised concerns, Mississippi DPS Commissioner Sean Tindell assures a smooth transition.
