MVSU Athletics Director is returning to JSU
SUMMARY: Hakeem McClellan, a former Jackson State University (JSU) administrator, is returning to JSU as Deputy Athletics Director after serving as Athletics Director at Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU). McClellan previously spent four years as JSU's Director of Compliance. He feels he has significantly improved MVSU in a short time but believes it is time for a change for his family and himself. Supported by Doctor Briggs, the institution, and alumni, he looks forward to contributing to JSU again. McClellan's last day at MVSU is June 30th, as they embark on new developments, including a turf field and logo.
Mississippi Valley State Athletics Director Hakim McClellan is returning to Jackson State to be the Deputy AD. McClellan confirmed the move to Delta News this week. The Gulfport native was the AD at MVSU for two years after serving as Jackson State's director of compliance for four years. Despite the short stint at Valley he believes they did a lot in a short time including groundbreaking on a incoming new turf field and a new logo to brand the athletics department among other accomplishments. His last day is June 30th.
