AC repairmen working overtime during heatwave
SUMMARY: During extreme heat waves, air conditioning units often fail just when they're needed most, leading to a surge in repair calls. AC crews are working frantically to address these issues, which frequently involve Freon leaks, faulty capacitors, and bad contactors. As temperatures soar into the 90s, fan motors and compressors tend to fail more often. To prevent such breakdowns, regular maintenance, such as cleaning and checking the system, is necessary. Beverly Gibson, whose AC unit failed, was relieved to get a repair crew from Southern Air Works before the temperature hit a perilous 116 degrees. Regular filter changes and professional inspections are recommended to keep AC systems running smoothly.
