Skilled to Work: Energizing the Electrical Trade
SUMMARY: The trade industry faces a shortage of skilled workers, particularly electricians, as experienced professionals age out. Electricians are essential in installing electrical, lighting, and control systems in buildings. Jeff Franks, Electrical Technology Program Director at ICC, aims to develop a steady stream of skilled workers to meet high demand. Students in the program can work in manufacturing, residential construction, and various environments across the U.S., earning while they learn. The median pay for electricians is over $60,000, with Mississippi requiring a license for the profession. This initiative ensures a continuous supply of proficient electricians, emphasizing safety and expertise.
WTVA's Michelle Martin explains how to get into the electrical trade.

Mississippi Insight for June 30, 2024: After the Debate
SUMMARY: The recent U.S. presidential debate featured intense scrutiny of President Joe Biden's performance against former President Donald Trump, with Democrats expressing concerns over Biden's capability due to his stumbling and mental freezes. Despite a lower bar of expectations, Biden failed to overcome it, leading to panic among Democratic officials about potentially replacing him on the ticket. Trump, in contrast, appeared measured and on message, benefiting from the debate's format. Fact-checkers noted both candidates made misleading statements. Meanwhile, Mississippi lawmakers discuss maternal and child healthcare improvements, including new Medicaid services and policies to support mothers and children.
Russ Latino and Sen. John Horhn offer their perspectives on the first presidential debate of the 2024 general campaign. And we look at a new study group at the State Capitol on the health of mothers and their children. Hosted by 12 News' Byron Brown and produced by Tom Wright.

The Enneagram for Moms
SUMMARY: Motherhood is challenging and diverse, not one-size-fits-all. Many influencers suggest a single approach, but this doesn't account for different motherhood experiences. I wrote “The Enneagram for Moms” to help mothers understand their unique strengths and struggles through the enneagram, which identifies nine core motivation types. Each type has healthy and unhealthy behaviors. The book guides moms to leverage their strengths and address weaknesses with compassion. Additionally, we offer Enneagram cohorts where moms of the same type can support each other. Learn more and connect through yourenneagramcoach.com, Instagram, and our podcast. Purchase the book at enneagramformoms.com.
