Canton Public School District mourns loss of beloved teacher killed in car crash
SUMMARY: Tyra Small-Jackson, a beloved 48-year-old teacher at Nicholls Middle School in Canton, was tragically killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 55. The other driver, Jordan Sullivan, 32, has been charged with aggravated DUI, with potential charges to be upgraded. Small-Jackson was highly revered within the Canton Public School District, teaching for 23 years and recently being honored as the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year. The school district praised her dedication and positive impact on students. A graduate of Canton High School and Belhaven College, she also earned a master’s degree in elementary education from Jackson State University. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Exxel Outdoors relocating distribution center from Nevada to Mississippi

Fan vote determines new Pearl pro baseball club will be named Mississippi Mud Monsters

Tunica homeowner shoots, kills apparent home invader
