CCID expansion goes into effect

SUMMARY: The expansion of the Capitol Complex Improvement District (CCID) in Jackson, effective , includes changes to 911 call handling and patrols. The expansion began on July 1, giving more responsibilities in a larger portion of Jackson. Capitol Police now have primary responsibility for calls in the CCID, with the 's dispatch center routing 911 calls to them until the state's own center is operational. Both city and state agencies are establishing Memorandums of Understanding. They aim to maintain a four-minute response time for emergencies. The state is also finalizing its court system for handling CCID-related cases, which currently manages. Further expansions and adjustments are anticipated.
