Tupelo looks at ordinance limiting locations to park for-sale vehicles
SUMMARY: The Tupelo City Council is considering an ordinance to restrict where vehicles such as cars, boats, and RVs can be displayed for sale. The ordinance would ban these vehicles from being displayed on public right of way, public property, or improved private property. Violating vehicles could be towed and impounded. City Attorney Ben Logan supports the measure, citing online sales as reducing the need for such public displays. For more updates, follow WCBI on Facebook and X. Disabled Marine veteran spending one week on a tower to raise money for wounded heroes – Home – WCBI TV
SUMMARY: Scott Burns, a double amputee Marine veteran, is spending seven days atop a 14-foot tower at the Mall at Barnes Crossing, raising funds for his nonprofit “7 Days for the Troops.” This year's donations will assist two local disabled veterans in Northeast Mississippi—one with home modifications and another with a tiny home. Burns established the nonprofit 18 years ago to support disabled veterans. Despite the heat, Burns says his sacrifice is minor compared to what troops endure overseas. Local businesses are also contributing through raffles. People can donate funds or volunteer time to support the cause.
