Mississippi State adding Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence
SUMMARY: Mississippi State University is introducing a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, starting this Fall semester. According to Shahram Rahimi, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, the program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of AI, integrating computer science, humanities, ethics, and cognitive science, with hands-on experience opportunities. This is the first program of its kind in Mississippi and aims to attract businesses to the state, prepare students for specialized roles, and offer better job prospects. The university intends for graduates to become leaders and pioneers in AI. Students can also minor in AI technology or take elective courses.
