WTOK makes TV tower repairs, adds tower camera
SUMMARY: This week, a lightning strike hit an electrical line near our tower but did not affect the lighting units or antennas. WT General Manager Jackie Harmes noted that they used this chance to adjust the guy wires and ensure they passed a safety inspection. Additionally, a new camera was installed at the top of the tower, offering stunning views of the city and valley. This new feature is set to enhance broadcasts, especially for anchors and weather segments. Viewers can see the new WT Tower camera tomorrow morning on Thursday's edition of Good Morning Meridian.

Inflation hits grocery store shoppers
SUMMARY: A survey indicates that prices for holiday staples such as hamburger meat, baked beans, and potato salad are at a record high this year. Shoppers at a Jackson grocery store noted price increases of about 30% from last year. The cost of a typical July 4th meal has risen by 5%, according to the American Farm Bureau, with current costs reaching around $71 for ten people, up from just under $68 last year. Consumers are adapting by prioritizing necessities over wants, and the rising costs are particularly challenging for those on a budget.
