Interview: Finalists competing for The Pitch in Tupelo

SUMMARY:

The 2024 Pitch, a small business plan competition, is nearing its finale, with the winner set to be crowned on Monday, June 17th at 6 PM. Five businesses, mentored for five to six weeks, will make their final pitches to a panel of judges. This year, all participants will cash prizes. The five finalists are:

  1. 360 – A community site revamped to promote local and businesses in Tupelo and Lee County.
  2. Indian Food with Nikki – An Indian culinary venture aiming for growth and expanded offerings.
  3. Coker Excavation – A young entrepreneur-led business focusing on excavation.
  4. Southern L – A husband-wife team selling chicken eggs and supporting homestead ventures.
  5. Southern Catering Services – An engaged providing catering and helping others start food businesses.

The competition, held publicly at the CDF building, aims to boost local entrepreneurship.

Camp Shelby projects underway or scheduled to start in near future

Petal police continuing investigation into deadly early-morning shooting

Around 3:15 a.m., a woman reported to Pedal that her ex-boyfriend was banging on her door. After he forced his way inside, another man in the home shot him. Gold later died at the hospital.
