Outdoor Adventures with Chelsea: Cardboard Boat Regatta
SUMMARY: At Tom Big B State Park, people gathered for the first cardboard boat race, with attendees building boats using only cardboard and duct tape. The event aimed to encourage park utilization and showcase its offerings. Ten teams participated, and the boats were judged on floatability, aiming for “Best in Show,” “First to Finish,” and the “Titanic Award” for the best sink. Most boats sank shortly after launch, with only two completing the course. Chelsea, from Outdoor Adventures, also built a boat, but it sank quickly. The amusing and community-centered event brought fun and attention to the park's resources.
Ten teams participated in the first Cardboard Boat Regatta this past weekend at Tombigbee State Park.

Hope City Church has found its new home
SUMMARY: After years of planning, searching, and raising money, Hope City Church is ready for its next phase. Community members recently gathered to view the church's new space and celebrate its future. Senior and founding Pastor Josh Lafy expressed immense joy over the church's progress. Previously, as a setup and tear-down church, members spent 16 months setting up and dismantling their operations every Sunday. Having moved through various locations, Hope City Church is thrilled to transition from a church plant to an established church. They aim to move into their new location on SE Street in Meridian, in the old TND Furniture building, within the next year.
