SUMMARY: Attendees at the June Open Mic Poetry Night at Pacesetter Gallery enjoyed poetry inspired by Mississippi art. The event featured Laura Mayo’s acrylic painting “Prone to Wander,” chosen for the 2024 cover of the Mississippi Poetry Society (MPS) Journal Contest Edition. Poets read ekphrastic poems inspired by Mayo’s works. Pacesetter Gallery, owned by Keri Davis, aims to unite various art forms. Linda Owen highlighted the gallery’s welcoming atmosphere for poets.
