Driving Through Meridian: Builders For Christ
SUMMARY: In this week's edition of “Driving Through Meridian” sponsored by Jax, we visit Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Little Rock, Mississippi, which has been selected by Builders for Christ for a new foundation. Builders for Christ, active since 1978, chose Pleasant Grove to support its growing congregation. Volunteers from multiple states are assisting in the construction, including children helping with various tasks. The organization ensures logistical needs are met and credits God's guidance for successful project completion. Despite challenges, the church expects the new facility to be completed this year. Lead Pastor Benjamin Duke and the congregation are excited for the expansion.

News 11 at 6PM_Weather 7/5/24
SUMMARY: Happy Friday! We're looking at our current rainfall status for July. June ended dry with a 2-inch deficit, and early July is nearly an inch behind, with only 0.31 inches of rain in Meridian today. Notably, other areas received more. Portions of Noxubee and Clarke Counties are abnormally dry, but recent rain has been beneficial. More rain is expected south of I-20 tonight and over the weekend, with showers likely into Saturday and Sunday. Tropical Storm Barry, likely to strengthen, could bring additional moisture to Mississippi early next week. Overall, expect warm, muggy weather with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Plan for a hot weekend with showers to dodge
