Marion County teen hospitalized with serious injuries after ATV accident
SUMMARY: On May 24, three teenage boys riding an ATV collided with a pickup truck in Marion County, resulting in minor injuries for two but leaving 14-year-old Brody Wages critically injured. Brody was thrown 90 feet from the vehicle. He is being treated at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for multiple injuries, including broken collarbones, a fractured tibia, broken ribs, a punctured lung, and brain bleeding. His father, David, along with Brody's grandmother, have been at his side, supported by community donations via GoFundMe to cover expenses. The family is hopeful and grateful for the support during Brody's long recovery.

Fire contained quickly in Lamar County Friday
SUMMARY: A house fire occurred near Baxterville in Lamar County amidst thunderstorms in the Pine Belt area. Officials do not suspect foul play and believe a lightning strike may have caused the fire. This assumption is based on homeowner reports and continuous lightning strikes during firefighting efforts. Firefighters managed to quickly contain the blaze, resulting in minimal visible damage to the exterior of the home. No injuries were reported.

Marion County school supply drive seeking donors
