June has started actively with Meridian receiving about 1.5 inches of rain so far, mainly since Monday, and we have a surplus of over 4 inches for the year. Currently, EMA live radar shows quiet conditions with a cold front pushing towards the coast, bringing in drier but not cooler air, promising more comfortable weather. Dew points, which are now in the 70s, will drop to the 50s by tomorrow, alleviating the humidity. Expect hot temperatures around 90°F but with less humidity. SUMMARY: An investigation is underway in Pedal following an early morning shooting that left 27-year-old Bernell Gold dead. Around 3:15 a.m., a woman reported to Pedal Police that her ex-boyfriend was banging on her door. After he forced his way inside, another man in the home shot him. Gold later died at the hospital. The Forest County Coroner identified the deceased, and no arrests have been made yet. The investigation continues.
