The Metro area will be well represented this week during the Region 6 USA Track and Field Junior Olympics. Events will be held at Hughes Field and Millsaps College and local athletes are excited to compete in their hometown amongst the best in the Southeast.

SUMMARY: Authorities have called off the search for Clovis Parker, a 56-year-old man missing from Winston County, due to dangerous heat. Sheriff Mike Perkins stated that Parker was last seen on foot near the 2300 block of Height Mo Road after leaving his home last night. Law enforcement utilized infrared drones and began their search at 6:00 AM, even deploying a canine unit, which had to be withdrawn due to the extreme heat. Parker was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, red shorts, and flip-flops. He is 5'6″ with black hair and gray eyes. If spotted, call 911 immediately.

A Silver Alert has been issued for a 56-year-old Winston County man.
