Ellisville men arrested on felony child abuse charges

SUMMARY: Frederick Gy, 39, and Jerry Gaston, 38, have been arrested for felony child abuse after the Ellisville Police Department discovered four neglected children, ages 4 to 16, in their care. An emergency alarm prompted police to find the children alone in a home with scant food, unsanitary conditions including feces, urine-stained mattresses without sheets, and no basic supplies like toilet paper. The children appeared malnourished, having eaten very little in 24 hours. Police suspect two children may have special needs. Gy and Gaston, the children’s foster parents, are now in jail with bonds set at $40,000 each; the children are in child protective services.

Fredrick Gowdy, 39, and Jerry Gaston, 38, are being charged with four counts of felony child abuse.
