Landon Harper, a former Northeast Lauderdale Trojan and Southern Miss Golden Eagle, took a significant step toward that goal this past weekend. Harper, now a pitcher in the Atlanta Braves organization, was promoted from high-A ball to the Double-A affiliate, the Mississippi Braves. A native of Meridian who grew up rooting for the M-Braves, Harper debuted on the road and struck out a batter. He expressed excitement about potentially pitching in front of friends and family during this week's home stand in Pearl.
