More than 700 tickets issued in 1st month of Hattiesburg school zone traffic cameras

Cameras were used in two school zones: Woodley Elementary and Grace Christian Elementary. There was a noted decrease in speeding from 1 to Week 2 before rates stabilized. Offenders can pay a reduced fine of $230, split among Intellisafe ($130), the ($75), and the Department of Public Safety ($25). Initially mistaking it for a man on a horse, Adams was horrified to realize it was a snake emerging from under her hood. She believes the snake was to reach a bird's nest using her SUV for height leverage. The snake, likely a nonvenomous rat snake, eventually fell off her car. , Jake White, WTV 9 News.
