Trio accused of passing fake prescriptions across north Mississippi

They are linked to a multi-county forgery investigation in North Mississippi, possibly part of a larger multi-state crime ring. The suspects targeted pharmacies in Belmont, attempting to obtain Codine, and tried to fax a fake prescription for Xanax at a Walmart in Corinth. In Oxford, they tried to get Promethazine with Codine at G&M Pharmacy using a doctor's details from the North Mississippi Health Services. Local police coordinated with various agencies to prevent these fraudulent activities. All three suspects were arrested and will face charges in Oxford, Corinth, and Belmont.

CCID expansion goes into effect
