Suspect charged for fatally shooting man in chest in Lumberton; victim identified
SUMMARY: A 29-year-old Lumberton man, Cody Watkins, was found dead from a gunshot wound on Monday afternoon. Lamar County coroner Blake Ma identified Watkins, who had an apparent gunshot wound to the chest and was deceased prior to the police‘s arrival. Investigator Glenn Lowry indicated that the incident seems to be family-related. The suspect, David Morrison, has been booked for murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. The Lumberton Police Department is investigating the case, with more information expected to be released after further investigation.
