Ex-boyfriend killed after breaking into Petal woman’s home, police say
SUMMARY: Breaking news out of Ped: police are investigating an early morning homicide. Chief Matthew Hyatt reported that officers responded to a call from West 10th Avenue at 3:14 AM Friday. A woman reported her ex-boyfriend was banging on her door before forcing his way in. A second man in the home fired a gun, striking the intruder. The man was rushed to a local hospital but later died. Names are withheld pending family notification, and no arrests have been made.

Corey Dickerson takes over JA Raiders baseball

A Brookhaven native, Dickerson is now coaching the Raiders baseball program. He reflects on the hard work and perseverance that defined his career, including overcoming injuries and achieving significant milestones. Dickerson chose to return to Mississippi for its slower pace, sense of community, and to raise his family. He appreciates the supportive environment of his home state and its people. Despite excelling in other sports during high school, baseball has always been his passion.

Fireworks exploded Thursday evening in Smithville
