Ridgeland leaders approve ALDI location
SUMMARY: Another ALDI location will open in the Jackson-metro area, specifically in the Renaissance shopping center in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The Ridgeland Board of Aldermen approved the site plans unanimously. This new ALDI is part of the Renaissance Phase 3B project, which also includes plans for T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, PetSmart, and La-Z-Boy. The ALDI will be situated between Costco and the Natchez Trace Parkway. The first ALDI in the Jackson-metro area opened in Flowood in 2023. Bryan Johnson, Ridgeland's economic development director, confirmed the plans.

Updates released in Noxubee County shooting case
SUMMARY: Noxubee County Coroner R.L. Calhoun identified Breanna Alexus Franklin of Macon as the victim of an early morning shooting on Pearl Street. The incident occurred after 2 a.m. when a vehicle fired a shot through the passenger side window of her car, resulting in her death at the scene. Ciara Sharda Latham is charged with aggravated domestic violence and murder. The Macon Police Department, assisted by Columbus PD and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, is conducting the ongoing investigation. Oktibbeha county gets five new fire trucks for the county
SUMMARY: Oktibbeha County, Mississippi is upgrading its aging fire trucks to enhance emergency response. Fire Coordinator Patrick Warner highlighted the need due to repair issues with older trucks. New trucks with advanced features like LED lights and higher pumping capacity will better equip firefighters.
