Firemen fight blaze at Sugar Mill Apartments in Gulfport, inspiring young trainees
SUMMARY: Golfport firefighters rescued three people from a burning apartment building at Sugar Mill Apartments. They extinguished the blaze quickly and inspired trainees from the Golfport Fire Department Training Academy. Twenty-one firefighters were involved in battling the blaze, which provided invaluable lessons to the trainees.
The trainees didn’t get to help battle the blaze, but Training Chief Eric Valles said they’ll benefit from witnessing what unfolded.
