USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Force cadets from the of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali’i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.

A rare copy of the US Constitution up for auction is expected to sell for millions

SUMMARY: A rare 237-year-old copy of the U.S. Constitution is being auctioned in North Carolina, with a minimum bid of $1 million already placed. This unique document, one of about 100 printed by Charles Thomson after the Constitutional Convention, is believed to be the only one in private hands; the rest are publicly owned. It was discovered in a neglected room of an old property once owned by Governor Samuel Johnston, who oversaw North Carolina’s ratification of the Constitution.
