One family finally received closure this week after DNA testing identified their missing loved one, Tonette Jackson, nearly two decades after she disappeared. Her husband had desperately searched for her after the storm, but her body was only recently positively identified. Through forensic investigations and genetic genealogy research, Tonette's name was added to the list of victims on the Katrina Memorial. While her family still mourns her loss, they can now find comfort knowing she is at peace.

Harrison County coroner Brian Switzer has identified the body found in a vehicle at Wolf River Cemetery as 22-year-old Lauren Johansson from Gulfport. 23-year-old Bryson John Rivers has been charged with her murder and was arrested after a six-hour manhunt. Sheriff Matt Haley stated that deputies spotted Rivers fleeing towards the woods after responding to a welfare concern. Johansson's body was discovered in the vehicle. Rivers is being held on a $1 million bond. More details, including an interview with Johansson's father, will be on WLX News at 6.
