Donations down for annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive
SUMMARY: Donations were down at the annual National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger food drive in Hattisburg, according to McCullen of Edward Street Fellowship Center. Organizations like Christian Services and the Salvation Army rely on donations from this drive each year. Dearius Le of the Pedal Children‘s Task Force also noted lower donations in their area. Despite the decline, the food collected will make a difference for those in need. Since its start in 1993, the Stamp Out Hunger food drive has brought in over 1.8 billion pounds of donated food. Despite challenges this year, the drive remains a crucial source of support for those facing food insecurity.
Administrators with some Pine Belt food pantries are reporting lower than expected donations to an annual food drive that helps them feed hungry families in the area.
