Man accused of shooting 18-year-old in Jackson in custody after escape
SUMMARY: Ameni Olugbala, 25, turned himself in to Hinds County authorities after being accused of shooting an 18-year-old. He faces charges of aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and escape. The victim is in stable condition after being taken to a local hospital. Olugbala had previously been arrested for murder and shooting in an occupied vehicle in August 2020 and was out on bond as of May 2021. The status of those charges is unknown. Olugbala escaped custody while being transported for questioning but has since been apprehended.
