Meridian City Council accepts bid for new camera systems for police department

SUMMARY: The city council voted to accept a bid for new security cameras for the Meridian Police Department. The MPD will be entering an agreement with Pum Corporation Metrics Solutions for 85 cameras inside and outside the police station. City council president Joseph Norwood mentioned the installation of cameras in Highland Park and other security features in the police station to improve security measures. The bid amount was almost $390,000, with 40 cameras allocated for Highland Park. Pum Corporation Metrics Solutions plans to install camera systems in other city parks in the next budget year. The overall goal is to update security measures with electronic locks and key fobs similar to the sheriff department.

MPD wanted to enter into an agreement with Pileum Corporation/Metrix Solutions for security cameras and systems for the police station.
