More rain is expected south of I-20 tonight and over the weekend, with showers likely into Saturday and Sunday. Tropical Storm Barry, likely to strengthen, could bring additional moisture to Mississippi early next week. Overall, expect warm, muggy weather with scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Camp Shelby projects underway or scheduled to start in near future
SUMMARY: Camp Shelby is bustling with both military training and extensive construction projects aimed at improving various facilities. Petal police continuing investigation into deadly early-morning shooting
SUMMARY: An investigation is underway in Pedal following an early morning shooting that left 27-year-old Bernell Gold dead. Around 3:15 a.m., a woman reported to Pedal Police that her ex-boyfriend was banging on her door. After he forced his way inside, another man in the home shot him. Gold later died at the hospital. The Forest County Coroner identified the deceased, and no arrests have been made yet. The investigation continues.
