Mississippi man charged in triple homicide near casino, other violent crimes

SUMMARY: Anthony “A.J.” Carter, Jr. has been charged with capital murder, conspiracy, drive-by shooting, and shooting into a motor vehicle in the Tunica County homicide that killed two men and a pregnant woman in November 2023. Carter had also targeted the victims in previous drive-by shootings. He is also charged with attempted murder in another incident. Another suspect, 18-year-old Deonte Taylor, was also charged in the triple homicide. Both are in custody at the Tunica County Jail. The victims included 23-year-old Steven Burts, 25-year-old Tednequa Moore, and 24-year-old Deshun Isabell, who died in a car crash caused by the shooting.
