3/4 – Monday Morning’s Foggy Forecast
SUMMARY: Happy Monday everyone! Dense fog will burn off around 9 am followed by a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly this afternoon with highs in the upper 70s. Showers and thunderstorms are expected through the early portions of the night, followed by patchy fog after midnight with lows in the lower 60s. Tuesday is looking wet with showers and thunderstorms likely. Cooler weather arrives for the weekend, with a 40% chance of showers on Saturday and then dry weather expected on Sunday. Highs on Sunday will be around 70 with lows in the mid 40s.

Organizations sponsor 3rd annual Hispanic Festival

Thalia Mara Hall renovation efforts continue
SUMMARY: The city of Jackson is working to renovate and reopen Thaalam Mara Hall. A recent update revealed that a response document regarding the September 11 visit from State Fire Marshal Mike Cheney, who identified 22 fire code violations, will be released soon. Hygienic tests were conducted, and a new chiller arrived early. Remediation for Thaalam Mara Hall is estimated to take 4 to 8 weeks, after which a final inspection will occur. The city plans to provide updates every Thursday as progress is made.
