Her remains were discovered in 1985 alongside Highway 78, and despite distinctive features such as tattoos, piercings, and a surgical scar, her identity remained a mystery. In 2022, funding from philanthropist Carla Davis facilitated DNA testing by Othram, leading to her identification. Pennell, born on September 6, 1962, was last seen at a truck stop before her disappearance. Her murder case is still ongoing, and more details will be released as the investigation progresses.
