TPD investigates fatal single-vehicle crash
SUMMARY: On Feb. 25, Tupelo Police responded to a single-vehicle collision at a bridge construction site on West Main Street. A Mazda SUV had collided with construction equipment, resulting in the death of the adult driver. There were no other passengers in the vehicle. The incident is under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Tupelo Police Department. Further details may be released as the investigation continues. Storm chance Tuesday PM, less hot for mid-week – Home – WCBI TV

Emcc hosts cooking for a cause competition

Aluminum Dynamics provides jobs for the community
SUMMARY: Gregg Whigham, operations manager at Aluminum Dynamics, spoke at Starkville Rotary about the progress of their $2.5 billion aluminum rolling mill project in Lowndes County, which is currently more than halfway complete. The facility will encompass 2.3 million square feet and is already creating hundreds of jobs, with over 1,400 contractors and nearly 400 employees on site daily. Whigham projects the facility will begin shipping metal by next year and anticipates that, by summer 2025, it will employ around 750 people, creating a total of about 1,000 jobs, including support positions within the community.
