Former Economy Inn managers sentenced on drug charges

SUMMARY: Two former managers of the Economy Inn in Bay St. Louis were sentenced for their involvement in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Pernell Robert Galloway, 54, and Cassie Louise McKenzie, 42, were sentenced to 131 months and 115 months in prison respectively. Agents investigated drug activity at the hotel and received information that Galloway and McKenzie were selling drugs from the hotel. Prosecutors said law enforcement conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine from the duo. A search warrant executed at the Economy Inn resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, a firearm, digital scales, and distribution baggies. The case was investigated by the DEA and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
