Representative Dana McLean weighs in on Wynbridge
SUMMARY: The proposed name change for Mississippi University for Women is in front of state lawmakers, with the latest proposed name Wynbridge State University of Mississippi. This comes after the initial proposal, Mississippi Brightwell University, received pushback. Representative Dana McLean suggested an alternative name, “The W: A Mississippi University,” and supports it even if Wynbridge State University of Mississippi is chosen. University leaders’ survey did not include “The W” as a name option, but it has received a lot of support. The situation is still ongoing, and updates can be found on Facebook.
