Keep Tupelo and your community beautiful by not littering
SUMMARY: Litter is a big problem in Mississippi, with trash being found on local highways and roads. Gabe, the mayor, went on a litter patrol and found large amounts of trash. A local nonprofit called Keep Tupelo Beautiful is working to address the issue by sending crews to pick up 15-25 bags of litter and trash daily. The problem is attributed to a “throwaway society” and careless drivers. The community is encouraged to pick up trash when they see it and to educate others about the importance of not littering. It is important for everyone to work together to keep Mississippi clean.

This event was part of the annual pre-law week activities, aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of the legal profession. Participants, mainly from USM’s Legal Services Program, engaged in discussions with judges after the arguments, gaining insights into the appellate process. The court last visited the campus eight years ago, making this a significant educational experience for aspiring lawyers.
