Over $2M awarded to Mississippi organizations that work with human trafficking victims

SUMMARY: Mississippi is awarding more than $2 million to nine dedicated to aiding human trafficking victims. Announced by Lynn Fitch and funded through the Victims of Human Trafficking and Commercial Exploitation Fund, this is the second grant distribution since the fund’s creation in 2020. Funds will various services like victim recovery, legal assistance, and shelter creation and maintenance. The entities receiving funds include the Center for Violence Prevention, Southern Christian Services, and Hope Village, among others, with specific allocations for staff, program , and facility improvements related to aiding human trafficking survivors.
