1 p.m. winter weather update
SUMMARY: Snowy and icy conditions are being reported across Mississippi, with North Mississippi experiencing a lot of snowy activity and icy roads on I-55 South. Central and Southern parts of the state are staying dry, but snow showers are moving off towards the South and East, with snow beginning to fall in parts of the Delta. Road conditions are icy in the Delta and wet in other areas. Freezing rain and sleet are in the forecast for later in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to stay below freezing, with very cold temperatures on Tuesday morning. This weather is expected to last until late tonight.

Interview: Autism organization offering sensory-friendly film in Corinth
SUMMARY: Transformers One is set to open this weekend, and local nonprofit Reconnect for Autism is hosting a sensory-friendly screening for children and adults with autism. Melissa Esser from Reconnect explains that the nonprofit aims to provide sensory-friendly experiences, allowing individuals with sensory sensitivities to enjoy community activities comfortably. The special screening will feature adjusted lighting and sound, along with play areas featuring Legos, allowing attendees to move freely in a judgment-free zone. The event will take place this Saturday at the Corinth Malco, with doors opening at 9:00 AM and the movie starting at 9:30 AM—no sign-up necessary.

Interview: Grammy Museum in Mississippi displaying Taylor Swift exhibit

Columbus mayor not seeking re-election
SUMMARY: Columbus Mayor Keith Gasin announced he will not seek reelection, revealing his decision during a press conference at City Hall. Gasin, who was elected in 2021, endorsed Darren Leech, a pastor at Genesis Church and member of the Memphis Town Community Action Group focused on redeveloping the old Kerr McGee plant. Gasin, who took a two-week health break in August, stated he made the decision to step down before that break.
Mayor Keith Gaskin announced he is not seeking re-election.
