Interview: MLK Day celebration to be held on Jan. 15 in Eupora
SUMMARY: Webster County is hosting the sixth annual Martin Luther King Day event on Monday with a variety of activities. The event will begin at 12 noon with a march and parade, followed by a gathering at the Civic Center and a firework show at White Creeks Lake. The goal is to honor Dr. King’s legacy and promote unity in the community. In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to the Civic Center. Teens arrested for murder on Watkins drive
SUMMARY: Two 16-year-old teens have been arrested by the Jackson Police Department in connection with the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Jaden Morgan, a senior at Callaway High School. The incident occurred on Watkins Drive when the suspects allegedly attempted to rob Morgan, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.

Deadly bus crash happens in Pike County
SUMMARY: Two people died in a bus accident on Highway 98 in Pike County, as reported by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The incident occurred Thursday evening around 5:30 PM when a bus belonging to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, traveling westbound, collided with a red Ford Ranger. Investigators confirmed that the two individuals in the Ranger did not survive the crash.
