Traditional eats on New Year's Day include black-eyed peas, cabbage
SUMMARY: Owner Abner Keith is excited to continue servicing his area in the coming year. On New Year’s Day, Gratefull Soul had a line of people out the door, hoping to get their hands on a traditional New Year’s Day meal, including black-eyed peas and cabbage, a meal believed to bring good luck in the new year. Despite the busyness, staff member Lynsey Terry says they were ready for the rush and enjoyed the atmosphere. Owner Carmen Ford says that, while it was busy, it’s her favorite time of the year. The restaurant, along with other establishments in the Hub City, were prepared to continue serving customers.
