Longest-serving Itawamba County Sheriff will soon leave office
SUMMARY: Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson was defeated in his bid for a fifth term by former Fulton Police Chief Mitch Nabors. Dickinson had served longer than any sheriff in the county, and his proudest moment was the completion of the new Justice Center. He said he had enjoyed leading deputies, investigators, and corrections officers at the jail. Dickinson’s last day in office will be New Year’s Eve, and he is looking at several opportunities once he takes some time off. He was proud of the new Justice Center, as it saved the county money and was something the people could be proud of.
