Experts release findings on value of Mississippi's agriculture
SUMMARY: Mississippi’s poultry industry suffered a 23% loss in value in 2023 due to the failure to meet the previous year’s record high prices. The industry contributed 3.1 billion to Mississippi agriculture, down from 3.9 billion in 2022. Egg production declined by 30% to 202 million, while broilers dropped by 22% to $2.9 million. Despite the decline, poultry remains the top contributor to Mississippi agriculture, surpassing soybeans and forestry. The US Department of Agriculture will release its final values in April.

Thalia Mara Hall renovation efforts continue
