Mississippi welcomes nearly 44 million visitors in 2023

Holmes County man sentenced for illegal possession of firearm
SUMMARY: Tamarius Webster, a 37-year-old man from Cruger, Mississippi, was sentenced to 70 months in prison for illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He had pleaded guilty to the charge in April after being arrested in September 2022 while the U.S. Marshals were serving a kidnapping warrant. Deputies discovered Webster in possession of a firearm in Oxford. Following his prison term, Webster will also undergo three years of supervised release. He was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals after the sentencing by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Debra M. Brown.
